Race them all the way! The Broken Sonic track set

Despite the utter disappointment of there still being no sign of the Dr.Robotnik soft toy Impact Innovations promised us on the boxes of their other soft toys, not to mention the constant delays and doubtful release of any of First4Figures range of lovely vinyl figures and that statue, the odd piece of stuff from this classic style Sonic range has crept out into the wild over Christmas. If you've stumbled into a busy GAME store lately you may of seen the console carry bag things with Sonic on them that sell for about £12 and £15 each, but there is also a racing track set, much like the one Impact had early designs of on their website a while back, out there which as far as I know is only available in Debenhams stores at the moment.

Gotta love how they wrote "SONIC BROKEN" on the box. I'm sure you guys will read a lot into that.

More after the jump..

And by 'at the moment' I mean 'good bloody luck finding it' as just about none of the stores have any left as they all sold out just before Christmas day. The website has nothing but a blank "Sega" category left either. It sold for about £12 and if they had any left from boxing day onwards it would have been in the sale. I checked out 3 different stores in the last week hoping I might get one cheap (or at least see what it even looked like, as there is nothing online of it) with no success until today when I found one amongst a box of returns junk in the Lakeside store.

It had a card stuck on it stating that "Sonic doesn't move" and it's price being dropped to £6. I took it to the till where they said it was not sorted out by the staff yet but they let me have it without the option to return it anywhere, with another half slashed off, so i got it for £3. It says it's broken, but sod it; for that money it doesn't matter and I only really want it for the figures anyway.

Here's all the junk you get in the box..

.. and here it is set up. It didn't look Sonic-y enough for me so I stuck some badniks on the track for Sonic and tails to crash into (had they worked, that is).

So what's it like? Well, nothing amazing really, but the characters are pretty neat. The track is about as basic as you can get, with nothing to distinguish it from any other car racing track set, and you get two controllers with a Sonic logo on them and two buttons that both do the same thing for some reason. Really basic stuff, and as with just about any of these kinds of car racing sets, it only works when it feels like it, which is barely ever: most of the time the cars just twitch a little but sometimes they would suddenly spring to life until they get stuck in the crossing path and topple over. Why they still use those fluffy lumps of wire at the bottom of these things to connect to the track is beyond me, as it's clearly a totally unreliable and downright rubbish tech.

Just pretend they're moving. I had to 99% of the time.

Still, the characters themselves aren't too bad. The Sonic and tails are good likeness and look far better than the wonky prototype images. Instead of sitting them in cars Sonic Drift style they have wheels for legs and a big white lump which I guess represents the speed lines to support them. Sonic also appears to have bags under his eyes on my one. If you replaced the wheels and lump of white with normal standing legs they'd actually make rather respectable little figures of the pair, especially compared to some of the wonky eyed figures we got back in the old days. I also remember having a radio controlled Sonic car which was a bit shit: it was just an ugly purple car with some Sonic related stickers slapped on it.

If it wasn't for the lump of white separating their legs from their bodies, these toys would be rather sweet.

Well I've typed far too many words about these now, but either way they seem to be rather elusive at the moment (at least until everyone starts returning them when they can't get the bloody thing to do anything) so this a sort of WORLD EXCLUSIVE first set of photos online of the thing...I guess. Exciting stuff. Have a happy new year and look forward to lots more photos of Sonic crap coming your way soon. This is now officially the only website on the Internet that is not bitching and moaning about the state of the Sonic series!

When I'm bored

When I'm bored and I'm on the computer, I usually edit pictures I find. Normally, when I add words, it comes out pretty stupid, so... BEHOLD!!! FEAR MY STUPIDITY!!! MWAH HAHAHAHA!!! (And yes, they are pretty much always Sonic related. Why else would I be putting this up on this blog? Which is all about Sonic and Shadow? duh!) Again... they are pretty stupid...

Yes. The little chibi-ish hedgehog in that pic is actually Sonic! (He's obviously not screaming "YAY! I'm a pirate! argh", but he really is on a ship.) This screenshot was from episode 120: Cruise Blues.

This is obviously a screenshot of Amy ready to bash Eggman with her giant hammer! Is it me, or does the size of her hammer change a lot? Sometimes it's bigger than herself, and sometimes it's smaller. (not by much though!) This was a screenshot from episode 109: The Last Resort.

This obviously is NOT a screenshot from Sonic X. I found this pic on www.deviantART.com. The person who made this left the speech bubbles blank so other people can fill them in if they felt like it, so that's what I did. I think this was a pic drawn for Sonic's 16th birthday. And as you know, you can leagally drive at the age of 16, so I personally think this was a good idea. And I love Tails's and Sonic's expresions! (I unfortunatly don't have a DeviantART account, so I couldn't tell the person who made this how good a job they did with this. :( Oh well...)

So I hope you enjoyed my stupid comments I added to these pictures! (And I'm sorry I used the word "obviously" so much.) If you think I should add more, than I will. But if no one tells me to add more, then tough! I'll add more anyways! (Just not as much as I would if someone wanted me to ^_^)

If you have any ideas for any future word editing, tell me please! And if you found a picture that you would like me to add a few ords to, then tell me. It's always good to see what other people would do, right?

LMAO!!! FUNNY FACE!!!

FEAR THE STUPID AND HILARIOUS FACE!!!

BOO!!!

Poor, poor Chip... It looks like ya scared him a little too much there, Sonic... (And I'm sorry if anyone out there ended up like Chip from looking at the face that Sonic made.)

I don't even think it's possible not to laugh at that face! I laugh every time I see Sonic making that face!!!

No, really, Japan still likes Sega Pt. 1

Right, as one or two of you may recall, I did promise an article ages ago about my trip to Japan, specifically about Sega stuff there (because noone wants to know about the arduous cultural stuff and the epic journeys I entailed climbing up mountains, walking around a volcano and staying in a very dodgy capsule hotel in Osaka’s probable red light district). Well, I finally got around to writing the article which, like Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy, definitely isn’t worth the wait but should be mildly enjoyable none the less!

^ Authentic photo taken by me. ‘Deckss’ was the name given to this huge department store-esque complex assembled in Odaiba.

More after the jump.

Staying in Tokyo for a rather significant portion of my trip, I did get a chance to visit the Sega Joypolis located in the Odaiba area (which is an amazing area in itself, built on land ‘reclaimed from the sea’, adorned with the rather awesome looking Fuji TV building amongst various other things).

^ An actual picture of the actual tickets I used on my actual visits. I love that the first one is dated 10th of May, when I only arrived on the 9th. Clearly I waste no time.
In fact, I actually went there twice as I ‘book-ended’ my Japan trip with Tokyo and figured why not go again? Now, I have to say, the Joypolis isn’t amazing. It isn’t bad either mind, but it wasn’t quite as mind blowing as Sega World London. It was fairly pricey, though.
^ Picture definitely stolen from some guy on Flickr. Cheers!
Sega Joypolis Tokyo is effectively a rather elaborate arcade, adorned with lots of games (both video and prize-earning) and the occasional indoor amusement park ride, which were actually rather nifty. However, each one cost £4 a pop I believe, which was somewhat steep having also paid an entrance fee of around a fiver as well. Add rides to arcade prices and if you’re on a cheap travelling budget, you’re basically not eating for a few days. Stingy rant aside, what were the ‘rides’ like? They were pretty good, actually. There was this ‘Bullet Ride’ sort of roller coaster thing that was actually quite frightening in that I was almost fully confident that the thing was going to break and I would fall to my death. Definitely added that extra fear factor, that’s for sure. Quite fun mind, but what was far better was The House of the Dead 4 Special.
^ Picture again very much stolen from someone on Flickr. When I went there, they had actually moved things around a bit, but whatever.
Basically, HotD4S is an extra mission to HotD4. Everything was in Japanese, so of course I had no clue what the plot was or anything of that ilk – I was really just there to shoot some zombies. But what makes it different to normal HotD shenanigans? Well, first you go into a small darkened ‘cubicle’ thing and strap yourself in to the two seater chair (there were two of us, don’t worry; I wasn’t staring longingly at the empty seat beside me wishing I had a travel companion). Then the screen in front of you will light up and you will see some normal HotD tomfoolery, at which point you pick up your gun and get ready to blow things up. Now things finally get interesting. The chair rocks as you get hit and will move about to simulate what’s going on on-screen. Furthermore, there is fantastic surround sound and little bits of smoke emitted (although, it is very possible that didn’t happen and my memory just added it in it’s rose-tinted glory), at appropriate moments, sort of ushering illusions of that ‘4D’ concept that used to be so big half a decade or so ago. The best part however is when your characters are just walking along and hear something behind you, and woosh – your two-seater chair just swivels around to reveal another screen behind you, showing what would be behind you in-game. There’s a lot of switching from back and forth and it does a great job at immersing you in the experience. Unfortunately, if you’re a bit shit at HotD4S (like we were), the joyous experience doesn’t last very long. Still, it was pretty fantastic and I’d love to see one of these machines hit the UK (although I have a feeling that would be fairly unlikely).
Arcades are pretty standard everywhere in Japan and most of them seemed to stock the same games. Taito Drum Master, Pop N’ Music, Virtua Fighter 6, Tekken 6 etc. and Sega Joypolis was no different (although, they might have omitted Tekken 6 now that I think about it). However, one machine did stick out to me when wondering around the Joypolis, exploring its delights.
^ Picture couldn’t be more stolen from Wikipedia if I tried.
Yes folks. Here it is. A The Typing of the Dead arcade machine. You can bet yourself that I immediately stopped everything I was doing to have a go on this. Unsurprisingly it plays exactly like the PC version, except using Japanese words instead of English. They were written in standard English characters however, so I actually managed to get fairly far (although after a while, it was very confusing to be typing rakamijikosho and things of that ilk… and no, that just isn’t real Japanese at all). Surprisingly, this wasn’t the only TotD machine I’d see on my travels. Oh no. The name of the city escapes me right now (which is bad on my part, as we did spend a couple of nights there), but another machine randomly appeared in a non-Sega arcade of this aforementioned city.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take many photos within the Joypolis itself, so a handful of these are stolen from other places, but as expected, everything was adorned with Sonic’s smug mug. Indeed, this is an understandably common trend in Sega-branded arcades and was pleasantly received by me. However, for all the Sonic imagery on the prize-grabbing machines downstairs, not one of them offered Sonic plushes, much to my infinitely nerdy disappointment. However, the Joypolis Shop rectified this issue slightly, selling not only plushes, but Sonic confectionary amongst other random goods. The confectionary was actually a bit outrageously priced so I decided to leave it, but I did come back with this little beanie for the decent price of a fiver.
It had to be done, really. The little git now adorns my computer desk. However, the crowning moment of the entire Joypolis visit was this;
^Yes, I am aware of how hilariously cheesy this photo is.
Check me out, desperately clinging on to my childhood. Fantastic times. I can’t help but feel the Japanese Sonic costume man at Joypolis is a billion times more impressive that the hilariously deformed Sonic from SegaWorld London. Anyway, that about wraps up this instalment. Hopefully the next part won’t take too long to finish, but I make no guarantees!

Werehog One's Done

Look, I know these aren't the best, but I get bored ok? And ya, I know, anyone can make these, but hey, anyone, even me. So that's what I'm doing. Here's the werehog one, (incase someone wants to use it of at least see it.) It's not much, but that's because I did this in not even a minute.
Remember the usual, if you use any of these, give me some credit, blah blah blah... You know the drill... And remember, if anyone has any suggestions, I'll try to make it. And I'll try to take some more time into these from now on... So anyways... SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!! I'M ALREADY RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS!!! Leave a comment telling me what you want me to try and make. (If you want a Sonic or Shadow fangirl one, I already made those. Look below this post.)
P.S: I really am a proud werehog fan ^_^

Just a brief one

Okay, first things first, I am a bad person for neglecting Sega Memories for so long. I won't bother making excuses, but Gaga's posted some fantastic stuff whilst I've been off so it's not like you kids have been without. Anyway, I actually have a couple of updates nearly prepared to post (but not quite there yet), but in the mean time I thought I would follow on briefly from an article posted by Gaga a few days ago.

We all know that to a certain degree, Sonic clothes are ridiculous. And yet, despite that, I continue to think that anything stamped with the classic Sonic design is golden. They're ridiculous, but awesomely so. To that end, I thought those of you who have as many fashion issues as myself might want to check out the following link.

This shirt is awesome. Whilst trying not to be a secret advertisement for Play.com, they do seem to be the only people selling it. As overtly nerdy as it is, the shirt rocks mainly because it's a great picture that wraps around the entire t-shirt (nostalgic nerd memory #4359; this stock art of Sonic adorned the cover of the first issue of Sonic the Comic I ever bought. Epic as). Whilst perhaps not as amazing as the Uniqlo shirts (which I am still bitter I never managed to get one of those silhouette [probably sic] ones), it is a rather nice little item. Just be warned if you buy it, the shirt is not that grey colour, it's much more navy. It'd look better if it was that grey colour, but whatever.

So yeah. Go buy yourself a Sega related Christmas present. Just don't spill mulled wine on it, as it probably won't come out.

For the Fangirls, (like myself!)

So I edited a few pictures of Sonic and Shadow. I made these and you can use them if you want. I would actually be really happy if you did use these. But if you use them, just make sure you give me some credit, ok? And I'm a Shadow fangirl, but I know that there are Sonic fangirls in the world too. (If you want the truth, I think I remember going through a very short and not-so-obsesive Sonic fangirl stage. So yes, I was once a little bit of a Sonic fangirl.) So again, use them if you want, but give me the proper credit. Thanks! Here ya go! (And please. If you don't like them, please don't start yelling at me, ok?

Yes, I edited Sonic's eyes in this pic. ^

Well, this explains me. ^ lol! And I know I made the heart a little bigger on this one, but come on. Sonic's got the flower and I even gave Sonic the eyes. So a bigger heart only seems fair.

If you have any suggestions for another pic that I should edit, than leave a comment and tell me what it is that you want me to make. Thanks!

And by the way, I'm thinking about working on a werehog one, so you can look foward to that if ya want. Remember, I'm open to any suggestions! (as long as it's in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, because hello! That's what the blog is about! lol!)

Super Sonic in Sonic Unleashed

This isn't really a long list. As a matter of fact, I'm only saying one last character, and it's not a completely different character. Super Sonic is a playable character in the game. You get to play as Super Sonic only once, and that's when you battle Dark Gaia. (How do I know all this? No I didn't beat the game yet... Actually, my brother beat it yesterday. I'm still in one of the last levels.) So same deal as always, collect rings while in your super form, otherwise, Sonic will transform back into "normal Sonic" and fall into the lava below you. (Your in the center of the Earth when you fight Dark Gaia. And no, you don't actually see Sonic fall and burn in the lava below you. He just falls and then you get to try again.) And to those of you who are fans of the song that SEGA chose for this game, "Endless Possibilities", listen to the music while you battle Dark Gaia. The music in the background is actually the instrumental version of "Endless Possibilities"! So I hope you enjoyed this not-so-big-but-not-so-little piece of info about Sonic Unleashed.

Characters in Sonic Unleashed

Ok, so as an answer to the question I got from my last post, I don't think Shadow is in this game. I'm sorry, and don't worry, I'm just as upset as all of you are. :( The only characters that you will recognize in this game, are Sonic, (duh) Amy Rose, Tails, and unfortunately, Dr. Eggman. And in case you heard about a little pinkish-looking animal thing that follows Sonic in the game, that's Chip. WARNING! INCOMING SPOILER FOR THE GAME! Chip lost his memory in the beginning, and you later learn that Chip's real name is Light Gaia. Him and Dark Gaia have been fighting each other, breaking apart and rebuilding the plant for years. That's all I'll say about Chip for now. Spoiler's over, you can look at the post again. I have only 1 part of the Earth left to fix and Shadow did not show up in the game. He probably won't show up because the game is already almost over. I wish Shadow was in the game, but I'm afraid he's not.
P.S: Yes, I'm still in Sonic Unleashed mode. lol. I'll be talking about this game for a while longer, I bet.

Sonic The Chess Set (hopefully) coming soon

We can add another item to the expanding list of classic style Sonic gear we will probably never see. A German company has revealed concept art of a Sonic Chess set, with the pieces featuring Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy (her Sonic CD look, a rare sight nowadays) and a bunch of rings and chaos emeralds, all sitting on a nice green hill styled checker board. Release date is apparetly sometime in Feb/March next year for 40 Euros.

Sonic Unleashed

Guess what I got a few days ago! I got Sonic Unleashed! Yay! So anyways, I think I'm almost halfway through the game. I'm not very sure... So anyways, I personally enjoy the game a lot! And you get to play as Sonic the Werehog way more than Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm honestly a little upset about that because I enjoy the day levels. Anyways, it's still cool to play as the werehog since that's the big thing about the game. I'll jut say that I think it's really fun, and Chip is kinda strange, but that only makes it more funny. So for those of you that want Sonic Unleashed, or have it, leave comments telling me what you think.

WARNING! As you know, pretty much every game has one of those intro movies. (You know, the little movie it shows right after you turn on the game and before you actually go on the title screen.) So ya, just to warn you, THE INTRO MOVIE FOR SONIC UNLEASHED IS PROBABLY THE LONGEST INTRO MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! IT EXPLAINS THE WHOLE STORY BEFORE WHAT HAPPENS IN THE GAME! In other word, you get to see Sonic turn into the werehog, and you get to learn a little bit about Dr. Eggman's plan. The intro movie was probably like, 5-7 minutes! (I could be exaggerating though...) Bottom line, It was pretty long.

So anyways, enjoy the game!
And yes, I know I used the same picture twice now ok? I'm just choosing the pictures that would best fit the posts that I put up, ok?

Sonic Unleashed = Sonic Disappointment

Sonic Unleashed

I played the brand new Sonic Unleashed game, which was released this month, on the Nintendo Wii the other day. I haven't got much to say on the subject other than that I am very very very very very very very disappointed with it!!!!

I had hoped for so much from this game, and while it isn't a bad game, it isn't a particularly good one either. Why oh why couldn't Sega have just expanded the really good daytime 2D side-scrolling bits of the game and removed everything else, especially all the nighttime "Werehog" rubbish, then it might have been the best Sonic game ever?!?!?!?! Good grief, another wasted opportunity.........

Werehog pic

I know it's already on my blog in a later post, but I still wanted to add it again anyways. So ha!

BAM! The pathetic werehog pic that I edited strikes back! TAKE THAT WEREHOG HATERS!!! And hey, remember, I tried to make this look good, but I'm open to criticism if it will help me make this look better. It probably needs work! XD

Night of the Werehog (again)

Well, as of yesterday, aka November 21, 2008, SEGA's Night of the Werehog was completed. Yay! Ok, so I literally just finished watching it, and now these are only my ratings. For true Sonic fans that really love the werehog idea, (this includes me) I give this a 4 star rating. For those of you that don't really care, 2 stars. And for those of you who love watching random characters get scared and/or other characters making really funny/stupid faces, (this also includes me) I give this a 4.5 star rating. I know, I didn't give it a full 5 star rating, but I have my reasons. First of all, it's very random, and there's just strange characters and a whole strange concept. It's kinda hard to explain, but You'll understand what I mean if you watch it. Now then, there is also a LOT of faces that are guaranteed to either creep you out, or make you laugh hysterically. (I couldn't laugh that loud because my family would think I was way more weird than they already think I am...) And the werehog fans will love seeing Sonic the Werehog in this little animation/movie/whatever it is. So I'm not gonna spoil it for people that want a surprise. (I know I was pretty surprised!) So watch it and tell me your opinions on Night of the Werehog. I wanna know what everyone else thinks. And by the way, if you don't agree with anything I said, keep in mind that these are just my opinions. And opinions change over time. Sorry if I sound like a commercial supporting a product or something, but I'm just trying to leave all of the info I can. Before anyone watches it though:
WARNING! As I said before, there are a LOT of strange/funny faces. And the whole plot is a little strange... So if you don't like any of those things, don't say I didn't warn you!
Enjoy the show werehog fans! (man... now I really DO sound like a commercial... ugh...)

Mario stole's Sonic's newspaper

IT'S OUT!!!

So, I'm pretty sure that Sonic Unlashed is finally released. It will be out in stores tomorrow, but I think it's released today! Yay!!! So Sonic fans, enjoy the new game! And by the way, I tink if you order this game soon, you can get a free Sonic the Werehog action figure! At least that's what is gonna happen to me. I had the game pre-ordered and now I think I'm gonna get the action figure with it for free. Whether I want to or not. And for those of you planning to get it from Toys R Us, you can buy the game on Wednesday, (that's tomorrow) at 5:00PM. That's what I saw in a Toys R Us catalog. So again, enjoy!
P.S: HA! You see? I told you I would get the box art for the game! I try to keep my promises. And with that, the suspense for waiting for a new Sonic game, has ended. Have fun playing Sonic Unleashed! I know I will!

More clothes with Sonic on 'em

Here's some stuff I got a few months back that I took photos of but didn't get around to uploading here. Some bloke at a car boot sale had tons of Sonic promo gear, mainly t-shirts and hooded fleeces, but also caps, of which he only had one of left, and some Virtua Tennis...things. I bought up two of everything, but probably should have just made him an offer on the lot, as seconds after I walked away some obese woman did exactly that. I decided to keep one lot sealed up for the loft collection, and the other lot for wearing.

More photos after the jump..

All the gear was based on Sonic games from the last couple years, such as Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic Rivals and Sonic Riders. The designs are actually quite nice because they're quite minimalist and subtle. The Secret Rings t-shirt and fleece, for example, has a flame on the front, as if to say your heart is ON FIRE like Sonic's was in the game (or something like that), and the logo is on the back.

The Sonic Riders T-shirt (like the cap he only had one of these left) has a silhouette of Sonic on his surfboard thing from that game in multiple colours, though it could also be Sonic with his thumb mutating into Knuckles fist. The back has a nice full colour logo from the game and a Sega logo.

The Rivals shirt is in a sort of greenish Grey and has Sonic's disembodied head floating over the PSP game's logo. There's nothing on the back of this one., but there's a little sega logo lurking where the size is written. A bit less abstract than the other two designs but still quite decent despite being based on a sub par at best game.

The cap is also promoting Rivals, with the same Sonic head floating on it and the logo in orange and white sitting on the bill. Can't say I would wear it myself, mind.

Finally here's the Virtua Tennis thingys. I presume they hook onto a mobile phone or something, and they are promoting the PSP game World Tour. So exciting! The bloke only wanted 10p each for these.

Despite car boot sales being filled with nothing but junk 90% of the time, I do occasionally stumble among unusual stuff like this, as the only way you'd get this stuff normally is if you worked in a game shop or if you worked for Sega, I guess. I also have a Sega Rally (the recent one) red shirt that I ought to get a photo of at some point.

Another New Blog

I know what you're thinking. "Why does she keep making new blogs?" Well this one is a little different, and it's for Shadow fans ONLY! This is gonna be a blog where Shadow, the ultimate life form himself, is the one putting up posts! Shadow's gonna have his own blog! (I love websites that make you feel like you're talking to the character, so that's what this blog will be.) Basically, Shadow will be using my account on Blogger. If you still don't understand what I mean by all this, Shadow will explain in his new blog.

Which are the best Mario and Sonic online games?

I get asked this question quite a lot by visitors to the MarioSonicGames.com site. In my opinion, the top 5 online games featuring either Mario or Sonic (or both) are as follows:

  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Flash

  New Super Mario Flash

  Super Mario Sunshine 64

  Ultimate Flash Sonic

  Ultimate Robotnik Duels

However, this is a very subjective list, and I might give a different answer on a different day. Why not visit the MarioSonicGames.com site and check out the more than 150 Mario and Sonic games there to see for yourself which are the best ones.....

Is something afoot with the classic Sonic range?

So we're now in November, and the Sonic statue and vinyl figures from first4figures are still not out. Play.com has the statue listed for the 7th of December, but judging how they have given us random dates before only for it to be pushed further away, something tells me they have no idea when it will be available. As for the Vinyl toys...they don't even list them anymore. The Vinyls are still on play-asia, where they are still listed as nothing more than "Q4 2008". They list the statue as December. First4figures website says the same, so here's hoping.

On another note, remember how those classic Sonic plush toys that were released had a tag that stated "collect all four!", which included an image of Dr.Robotnik? We eventually got the Knuckles toy, but there has been no sign of the Eggman at all, not even an image of what it looks like? There's no evidence of it's existence even on the Impact Innovations site, so it looks like we'll never get one, let alone all of that other stuff they had planned, like USB drives, race track sets and radio controlled cars. Now would be a perfect time to release them, just in time for Christmas. What could possibly be a better present than a cuddly mad scientist that traps animals in machinery? I've always wanted one of those.

Meanwhile, a action figure of Sonic the Werehog (that new form of his in the upcoming game Sonic Unleashed) has been popping up on Ebay. All I know about it so far is it's a pre-order bonus in Australia, and apparently is "only in Toys R Us" in America. The toy isn't particularly brilliant (see above), but this might just be the start of a new toy chain, so who knows what will come from it? The werehog (shouldn't that be "Hedge-wolf"?) kind of reminds me of My pet Monster, so maybe they should do a Sonic version of that, complete with breaking chains.
